One of our products is the MR ergometer, which is specifically designed for use in conjunction with an MRI scanner. It is MRI conditional, which means it can safely be used within the MRI room. The pedal version is particularly suited for cardiology and has an adjustable workload of up to 300 watts. Its low start load enables patients to start pedalling easily, even in a supine position.

Another product we offer is the Angio imaging ergometer, which can be used for both sitting and supine ergometry. Its compact design makes it ideal for ergometric studies in sectors where standard ergometry is not possible. The Angio operates independently of pedalling speed, offering a range of 7-1000 watts. With these specialized products, healthcare professionals can conduct accurate tests and scans with greater ease and comfort for their patients.

Lode hardware

Lode’s imaging-specific hardware comes in multiple variations to ensure the perfect fit for healthcare professionals. For instance, the MR Ergometer can be tailored to the specific MRI unit that the professional is working with. It is equipped with a carrier for easy transportation, placement on the MRI bed, and storage since it may not be used every time.

The MR Ergometer also has different mechanism versions designed to allow for easier pedalling even in a supine position. Lode offers the MR Ergometer up/down movement, MR Ergometer pedal, MR Ergometer push/pull or MR Ergometer Dorsal Ankle Flexion feature. Therefore, allowing healthcare professionals to choose their preferred configuration.

Similarly, the Lode Angio imaging ergometer has several mechanisms. The Angio with stress support ultrasound comes with an exercise table for ultrasound with an electrically adjustable slope (transversal, 45º). That’s why it’s optimal for positioning of the heart in ultrasound research. With a removable part of the back support, the ultrasound table provides a better view of the heart from the back side.

For radiology purposes, the Angio is equipped with an electrically adjustable table for reclining ergometry. It comes with an adjustable shoulder support to provide stability to obtain clear pictures during exercise. With these features, healthcare professionals can choose the perfect configuration for their specific needs.

Lode software

Lode’s Ergometry Manager (LEM) software is specially designed to integrate with various Lode products. Including those used for medical imaging like X-ray, MRI, and echocardiography. With choosing the option for LEM software and Lode imaging products can work together, healthcare professionals can achieve accurate and standardized data during exercise testing or stress analysis. What is imaging?

Imaging refers to the process of creating visual representations or pictures of the interior of the body or specific organs, using various techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. These images can be used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes in medical practice.

The various medical imaging techniques

X-rays: A form of electromagnetic radiation that can pass through the body to produce images of bones and certain soft tissues, helping to identify fractures, infections, or tumors.

CT scans (computed tomography): A type of X-ray that uses a computer to generate detailed cross-sectional images of the body, helping to identify tumors, internal injuries, or abnormalities.

MRI (magnetic resonance imaging): A non-invasive technique that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce detailed images of the body’s organs, tissues, and bones, helping to identify neurological disorders, tumors, and other abnormalities.

Ultrasound: A non-invasive imaging technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow, helping to identify issues such as blood clots, tumors, and structural abnormalities.

Benefits of excercise before medical imaging

When a test subject is able to do exercise, it is always recommended above pharmacologic stress. It allows objective measurement in either level of cardiac conditioning and/or level of cardiac work. It is safe and perfectly reproducible.

In some cases, exercise can be beneficial before medical imaging instead of medication because it can help to reveal any underlying issues that may not be detectable at rest. For example, exercise stress testing can be used to detect cardiovascular problems that may not be present during a resting state. Exercise can also increase blood flow to certain areas of the body, which can improve the accuracy of certain imaging techniques, such as MRI and CT scans. Additionally, exercise can be a non-pharmaceutical method of inducing stress in the body, which can be useful in certain medical evaluations.
