Why the Corival CPET?

Reliable and reproducible stress tests

The experience of professionals who calibrate many ergometers showed that the Lode ergometers are the most reliable across the complete workload and rpm range and still within specifications even after many years of intensive use.

Various test modes

Besides the hyperbolic (rpm-independent) mode that is used most of the time, the standard control unit offers several other test modes, like the fixed torque mode and the linear mode. These modes can be used in both manual and terminal mode.

High standards

Lode is a socially and environmentally responsible company. All Lode products are RoHS/WEE compliant and Lode is ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 13485:2016 certified. All medical products comply to MDD 93/42/EEC, incl. IEC 60601-1.

Q-factor equal to road-bike

The Q-factor of the ergometer is equal to the Q-factor of road bikes, creating perfect training circumstances.

Rotatable handlebar with new lever

The new designed lever makes it even easier to adjust the handlebar. The handlebar can be rotated 360 degrees and is constructed in such a way that the test subject can be installed comfortably at every seating height.

Product features

Compatible with ECG and pulmonary devices

The Lode ergometers have digital interfaces and can be controlled easily by all known stress ECG and pulmonary devices available in the world. This is one of the reasons why the Lode ergometers are very popular worldwide.

Accurate over a long period of time

The Lode ergometers are supplied with an electro-magnetic braking mechanism of Lanooy (eddy current). The biggest advantage of this braking system compared to a friction braking system is the absolute accuracy and the accuracy over time. Moreover, friction braking systems have more wearing parts.

Perfect ergonomic position

Improved ergonomic position according to the latest requirements.

Hidden connectors

The cables are connected to the ergometer under the ergometer, which means that the test subject or operator cannot bump onto the connector.

Extreme low start up load

The extreme low start-up load of 7 watts and the adjustability in small steps of 1 watt make this ergometer perfectly suitable for many different applications. The standard control unit shows multiple ergometry parameters and you can determine your specific default setting and start-up menu.

Low noise

Due to accurate manufacturing and the careful choice of materials the product has an extremely low noise level.

Readout of saddle height

The height of the saddle is stepless adjustable and can be read-out on the saddle shaft

Ultra-low step-through

The lowest possible step-through guarantees easy access to the ergometer for all test subjects: a must for people who are not so mobile!

USB connectivity

USB to connect to PC or ECG or ergospirometry products facilitates easy connectivity.

RS232 connectivity

RS232 ports enable connectivity to most ECG and ergospirometry devices as well as PC’s.

Frequently asked questions

In what range are the handlebars of the Corival and Excalibur adjustable?

The Corival handlebar is adjustable within 0-360 degrees.
The Excalibur Sport’s handlebar is adjustable in both vertical (465- 855 mm) and horizontal (229- 600 mm) direction.

Is it possible to put another saddle on the ergometer?

Yes, you can use most commercial available saddles. For the Excalibur an easy saddle exchange option is available. Please contact your service coordinator

Is it possible to control the Lode ergometers and treadmills with external CPET equipment?

Yes, you can find interface sheets for most common devices on the website at the “interfacing” tab of the product. If your CPET device is not present you can ask us to support you. In most cases we can quickly provide you with a solution.

What is heart rate controlled cycling / protocol?

During heartrate controlled cycling or running, you can determine a maximum heartrate limit. When this limit is reached, the ergometer/treadmill will adjust the workload/speed so the heartrate will stay more or less stable. You can perform a HR controlled test with the standard controller. You can program HR controlled protocols with the controller of the Valiant, Corival, Angio and Excalibur (more heartrate limits in one protocol (per step)), and the LEM (multi control) software module.

Is it possible to turn the display around so it is facing the physician?

Yes, before purchasing, you can order or it can be changed by a service engineer.

Is the SpO2 option compatible with LCRM?

Yes the SpO2 results are visible during the rehab session.

What is the Q factor of the Lode ergometers?

The Q factor of a bicycle ergometer is the distance from crank to crank. For the Excalibur the Q factor is simular to a racing bike meaning 147mm (+/- 3 mm).
The Q factor of the other ergometers is a little bit bigger (like a city bike), for the Corival this is 180 mm.

How do I know how to interface my ECG or ergospirometry device to a Lode product?

In the SERVICE tab of every product, you find all available interfacing options.

You can download a short instruction on how to choose the right settings on your ergometer or treadmill and the ECG or ergospirometry device.

Is Lode recommending special disinfection procedures for the Lode products due to COVID-19?

Yes, Due to the fact that the scientific research on the spread of Covid-19 is not yet conclusive Lode recommends to disinfect and clean all Lode products and their accessories (cuffs, heart rate belts, SpO2 sensors, handgrips/rails, touchscreens etc) that are in contact with the patient and or the medical personnel with a standard disinfectant as used in the hospital before and after every patient, with attention and care!

Since these agents are sometimes aggressive it might be advisable to check the effect on sensitive surfaces, like cushioning on non-visible areas. Lode will not take responsibility for discoloration due to these agents.
